According to Sky Sports, Club Brugge striker Joseph Akpala has admitted he would welcome a move to the Premier League.
The 25-year-old has been capped seven times by Nigeria and is said to be attracting newly-promoted West Ham, who are looking to bolster their attacking options as Manager Sam Allardyce pieces together a squad capable of challenging for Premier League survival next season.
Akpala has recently stated he is aware of the reported interest in his services but made it clear that no approaches have been to Club Brugge. However the Nigerian refused to rule out a summer switch to England.
“I would love to play in the Premier League one day and score goals there week in, week out. ‘West Ham are a London club and I like London, so you never know’.
With only Carlton Cole, Nicky Maynard, Sam Baldock as recognised out and out strikers going into next season, the signing of Akpala would be welcomed at Upton Park as the powerful striker could prove to be an invaluable option for The Hammers next term.
Having impressed in this seasons Europa League scoring an impressive 7 goals in 10 appearances -Akpala finished the season with 22 goals in all competitions and could bring some much needed class to the West Ham striking department next term.
