Manchester United are one of the biggest football clubs in the world.

Not many sports teams can boast about a fanbase like United can with fans from all over the globe flocking to see them.

Some of the most ardent supporters here in the Transfer Tavern even claim that MUFC is their 'religion.'

One banner which is always present amongst the fans at United games is 'Utd, Kids, Wife - In that order.' If this doesn't indicate how important the Red Devils are to some people, then I don't know what will.

They refer to themselves as the team that is 'Hated, Adored, but never Ignored,' which seems quite accurate considering the enjoyment people have had whilst watching them suffer these last three seasons since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure.

However, even though they are one of the most well followed teams in world football, there are still some things that only real United fans will be able to fathom.

If United is your life then read this because only the United family will understand these SEVEN things.....

You still believe that Ronaldo will return

ronaldoronaldo

Somewhere deep in the abyss of your mind, you still believe that the magic feet of CR7 will return and grace Old Trafford again.

Even if he's 35 at that point, you can't help yourself long for the unbelievable football he produced during his glory days in Manchester.

We all know he loves United more than Madrid and you're just waiting until he returns, no matter what stage of his career he's in.

Getting tickets is an absolute nightmare

Old Trafford

United fans continually gloat that they are the biggest team in the world.

However, that tag can be frustrating at times when you can't even locate a ticket for United V Stoke.

Away tickets are like gold-dust and with the new £30 price capping, finding any will be mission impossible.

However, tickets at the Theatre of Dreams aren't so easy to pipoint either.

With thousands of tourists willing to pay top dollar to see United, being the 'biggest team in the world' isn't always the best thing.

Sir Alex means everything to you

You don't know him personally but Sir Alex is like your God, your father and your grandpa all rolled in to one.

Every time the camera pans into him during a game you smile and reminisce about the best years of your life as a football fan.

Even those who despise United say he is the best manager of all time, but you seem him as more than that.

To you, Sir Alex will always be god.

The pubs surrounding Old Trafford are the best in the world

Whether you frequent Sam Platts, The Trafford or Bishops Blaize, you know that these pubs are unchallenged by your domestic rivals.

The atmosphere created is electric and they're like a home from home.

However, you also wish that you could take the atmosphere from there into the ground where the noise is never as boisterous.

It's been a while since you were this excited about United

Since Sir Alex departed, it's been a series of ups and downs for you (Mostly downs!) but the excitement this season feels like you're back to the good ol' days.

The transfer window was not filled with countless and baseless rumours.

Instead, United acted ruthlessly, secured the players they wanted and now have a team that appears filled with leaders and copious amounts of talent.

With youth like Rashford and Lingard also proving their worth, the early signs under Mourinho's United seem bright.

No side will match the impossible treble achieved in 99.

Old Trafford

Even though Barcelona have won the treble since United, and Liverpool won a domestic treble in 2001, you still believe that no side will match the incredible achievement of the Class of 92 and co.

It was the greatest team in English football history who managed to conquer all that came their way.

No team will ever match it. Ever. (Unless United do it again, of course.)

6th February will always be one of the saddest days of the year

OldTrafford

The date of the Munich air disaster. It is a tragedy that will always be remembered and mourned by Manchester United fans.

The Busby Babes were returning after a hard fought, enthralling 3-3 draw with Red Star Belgrade when the plane going from Munich to Manchester never took off.

Instead, it took the lives of 23 people, 8 of which were United players.

Outside Old Trafford, the Munich clock stopped and is still there, by the South East part of the stadium, commemorating those that lost their lives.
