Van der Vaart has scored six goals so far this season, making him the joint highest scoring midfielder in the Barclays Premier League alongside Frank Lampard. Van der Vaart has got an impressive 80% of his 30 efforts at goal on target making him the third most accurate marks man in the league.
Spurs have been troubling goalkeepers all over the league this season, and have the second highest overall shots on target rate of any team in the Barclays Premier League. Spurs have had 156 efforts at goal getting 100 on target, an accuracy rating of 64.1%. Defoe and Modric are also in the top ten players for shooting accuracy with 78.26% and 76.47% respectively.
Aston Villa strikers Darren Bent and Gabriel Agbonlahor are both in the frame to fill Wayne Rooney’s striking boots for England at Euro 2012, and the two are in the top five players in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index for converting chances to goals. 31.25% of chances falling to Bent have hit the back of the net, with 29.41% of Agbonlahor’s going the same way
Richard Dunne has excelled at the back for Aston Villa this season. Totalling up a defenders contribution across tackles attempted, clearances made, blocks and interceptions Dunne boasts the most impressive figures in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, with 90 defensive contributions overall.
Bent and Agbonlahor’s finishing puts Aston Villa third behind just Man United and Man City in the table for converting chance to goals, with a conversion rate across the team of 15.24% of chances hitting the back of the net.
