The Everton fans are gathered around the jukebox selecting some tunes in The Transfer Tavern, and discussing reports that their experienced goalkeeper is considering a move to the MLS.
The Sun is reporting that Tim Howard has shocked officials at MLS side Colarado Rapids by reportedly demanding a four year deal worth £14 million.
American Howard currently has a couple of years to run on his £70,000 a week deal at Everton and wants a deal to replicate the rate of pay he is currently receiving at Goodison Park.
Colorado want the deal to be concluded quickly but it looks as though any deal could take longer due to Howard’s demands.
Everton are also believed to be wanting a fee for the keeper which could also scupper the move, and Colorado are hopeful they can talk the Premier League side into forgoing their fee to pay Howard the demands he has asked for.
The Everton fans in The Tavern are hopeful that a deal can be agreed between the two sides over Howard, and wish the keeper well should he make the move across the Atlantic!
Our landlord feels that £14 million is an outrageous money, especially considering how old the goalkeeper is!
