The Daily Mail have once again interested us here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim that Gareth Bale could well make the switch to Los Blancos – but it will cost the Spanish side.
Madrid based paper Marca have been reporting for weeks that a deal between the North London side and Florentino Perez will soon be finalised and now it seems that could well be the case. Despite calling it wrong in the past over the arrival of some players, Marca is as close to the Madrid camp as you can get and it seems that Daniel Levy has finally conceded that Bale wants to leave and is willing to allow him to go – for the right price.
Andre Villas Boas is not too happy about the latest development yet knows that not only will the club make in the region of £85 million but they will also see a top player arriving from Carlo Ancelotti’s side – most likely one of left back Fabio Coentrao, who has been on the brink of leaving the club all summer, or winger Angel Di Maria who simply would not have a place in the side should Bale make the switch from the Premier League to the Spanish side.
As we all know, Levy is a shrewd negotiator and the transfer of Luka Modric taught us that if nothing else. Real Madrid are fully aware that Spurs will not be bullied over the move – no matter how hard Bale pushes for a transfer.
