Attacking Winger Junior Hoilett is one of the few in the Blackburn team to impress this season, and now much like Christopher Samba, he is looking to flee Steve Kean’s sinking ship.
Bayern Munich are reported by The People to be the players surprising destination. The player’s father and agent has been in Germany over the last few weeks to organize the details of a free transfer this summer. The legendary German team are set to offer Hoilett a head turning £40,000 a year contract.
Hoilett has long been rumored with a move away, and until recently Spurs and Liverpool were thought to be front runners for the Canadian International, but Rovers placed an £8 million price tag to deter bids in January. They may now regret not taking the money, as Hoilett can now leave for just a tribunal fee this summer when his contract expires.
The move may not be that surprising as the player has ties to Germany; his brother plays for Mainz, and Junior himself spent 2 seasons on loan to St.Pauli and Paderborn in Germany earlier in his Career.
Losing out on Hoillett will be a big disappointment to Spurs. He would be a great fit for a team in need of Forwards to bolster their squad for a Champions League campaign next season. Like Loic Remy, Leandro Diamao, and Ibrahim Sissoko, it seems to be yet another striker Spurs have missed out on.
