The arrival of Maurizio Sarri has given Chelsea supporters a fresh sense of optimism ahead of the new season after months of uncertainty regarding Antonio Conte's future, but the new man still has plenty of work to do before the season gets underway if he wishes to take the Blues back into the top-four.

Sarri's first task at Chelsea was to bring Jorginho to Stamford Bridge following months of intense speculation which made a move to Manchester City appear inevitable, and his first move into the market has certainly given the club a huge boost ahead of the new season. But following a season in which Chelsea significantly declined and Manchester City imperiously dominated at the summit of the Premier League, Sarri cannot afford to rest on his laurels in the transfer market.

With rumours circulating regarding a handful of Chelsea's most indispensable players, he will need to convince the likes of Eden Hazard, N'Golo Kante and Thibaut Courtois to stay at Stamford Bridge for at least one more season, whilst also pursuing the signatures of at least two key targets in the transfer market.

Sarri's task certainly won't be simple due to certain circumstances which are out of his hands, but if Abramovich is willing to back him with a handful of internal and external deals, he should be in a promising position to usher in a new era of success in West London.

With that in mind, here's what Chelsea's dream end to the transfer window could look like...

Eden Hazard is by far and away Chelsea's most important and talented player, so it's no surprise that he has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Belgium superstar certainly possesses all of the qualities which make a galactico, but Chelsea must deter any forthcoming offers from Los Blancos by offering him a bumper new contract.

Whether or not financial incentives would be enough to convince Hzard to stay at the club is a factor which only he will know the answer to but, after 6 seasons at Stamford Bridge, the prospect of a new challenge will certainly hold a strong weight of appeal.

With only two years remaining on his current deal Hazard's value will significantly drop next summer if he stays on at Stamford Bridge for another season, so Chelsea must offer him an extension even if only to ensure that his value is retained.

The other aspect of Chelsea's conclusion to the transfer window naturally concerns two players whom they reportedly want to bring to the club, namely Daniele Rugani and Gonzalo Higuain.

According to a recent report from the Daily Express, Chelsea are interested in signing the Juventus pairing for a combined cost of £90 million, with Higuain commanding a £50 million fee and Rugani £40 million.

Although the proposed deal is a rather extortionate one, it's one which Abramovich should not hesitate to finance, as he would be providing Sarri with two excellent talents to add to his spine.

Higuain is a prolific goalscorer with a sensational record under Sarri's leadership whilst the pair worked together at Napoli, and Rugani is a composed and commanding centre-back who has the potential to orchestrate Chelsea's defence over the course of the next decade.

With these points to consider, there's no doubt that a double-deal would be a game-changer for Sarri ahead of the new season.
