Few players at Stamford Bridge are as popular as Ruben Loftus-Cheek. He already had a reputation, owing to his homegrown status, but it has been increased significantly by his fine performances on the field.
Yet, he’s still rarely been a key part of Maurizio Sarri’s plans at Stamford Bridge, and that, naturally, leaves him with an uncertain future.
However, Chelsea fans are clearly confident that he’ll still be a Chelsea player by the time the end of the January transfer window rolls around. We recently asked fans whether Loftus-Cheek – who is rated at £16.2 million by Transfer Markt – will still be a Chelsea player in February, and just 5% of fans think that he won’t.
A whopping 95% of fans, then, are confident that he’ll remain a Chelsea player throughout the transfer window.
That’s a surprise given how little he has featured under Maurizio Sarri. He’s clearly good enough to be playing for a top team, but yet, the Englishman has really struggled for minutes this term.
Could that change over the coming months? It certainly could, as he’s played very well recently. However, the signs haven’t been good, and it’s evident that Sarri prefers Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic. Still, he got 90 minutes against Wolves, and that’s a good start. Chelsea fans will be hoping that his rise continues.
