Burnley fans in the Transfer Tavern are packing their suitcases preparing for a European tour with the Clarets on the verge of securing a Europa League place in the Premier League.
Sean Dyche would bring European football back to Turf Moor for the first time since 1967 with a top-seven finish looking likely in the Premier League. The Englishman deserves all the credit for guiding the Clarets so high in the table with many clubs around them outspending them in the transfer window.
Should the Clarets qualify for Europe, new signings are needed. Dyche will have watched the struggles of clubs competing on multiple fronts with a small squad before and be eager not to make the same mistake.
More quality options in attack are necessary if Burnley are to challenge in Europe while maintaining their Premier League form. One man who could be available is former Clarets forward – Jay Rodriguez. The 28-year-old looks destined to be relegated with West Brom.
Valued at £9m by Transfemarkt, Rodriguez has netted seven goals during a miserable campaign for the Baggies and would surely jump at the chance to return to Turf Moor; where he spent five years making over 100 appearances. A hard-working forward, he slots seamlessly back into Dyche’s side and adds some much-needed firepower to their attack.
If he can get back to his best, it’d be a wonderful addition.
Burnley fans, would you be happy to see Jay Rodriguez return? Let us know!
