Russian hit man Roman Pavlyuchenko is apparently looking to seal a move away from Tottenham in January which will alert Arsenal who have previously shown interest in the player during last season’s campaign and may consider making a move for him.
The Spurs frontman has found himself floundering on the bench since the arrival of Adebayor with first team opportunities limited. Arsenal have enquired in the past and the general consensus is that Arsene Wenger may come forward with a considerable offer to entice Pavlyuchenko across town. The Russian striker would not be alone at Arsenal either with his international counterpart Andre Arshavin already settled into the north London side.
It may be early days but Wenger would be keen to add another striker to his squad and the Russian is a perfect fit. Having already settled in London, Roman would jump at the chance of a quick switch to rivals Arsenal if regular first team opportunities were on offer.
Redknapp could do with the cash and a chance to trim his squad down a bit so the sale of Pavlyuchenko would be great timing. However, on the back on the recent crowd issues during the last north London derby, would a transfer involving the rivals stir up more hassle than both clubs need right now? We can only wait and see but Wenger’s potential capture of Pavlyuchenko could spur them on and prove vital to his teams chances of competing for any honours at all this season.
