Reported Arsenal target Mario Gotze dreams of playing forBarcelona, according to talkSPORT.
It’s believed Arsene Wenger is keen to land the German starlet from Borussia Dortmund, and was understood to be weighing up a shocking £30 million bid for Gotze in January.
The Bundesliga outfit are desperate to keep hold of the 19-year-old attacking midfielder and expect him to remain at the club after the winter window closes. However, their stance could soften in the summer, especially if a huge offer is tabled.
Arsenal are just one of many clubs interested in the German international, with Manchester United also eager on the youngster. However, it appears the Premier League duo will lose out on Gotze, especially if he gets his way.
Viewed as one of the best young talents in world football, Gotze recently told German newspaperBild that he would love to move to Spain, with Barcelona being his preferred destination:
‘It would be a dream to play for Barcelona.’
‘I’d prefer to play in Spain than in the Premier League. I do not know how serious and concrete these requests are, but I am not busy with the possibility of moving. But of course, such offers flatter me.’
Well it seems this transfer story will continue to run its course until next summer. Here’s hoping we get the result we want.
