“I still have three years of the contract, but some do not want games. In this moment there are not injured, I have no reason to be here”, says The Sun newspaper. “I will consider all options.”
Once you’ve worked out what Daniel Agger is actually saying, it’s clear that he wants to leave. From one of the best centre-backs in the league to apparently surplus to requirements at Anfield, who should act now and snap him up? Strong in the air, comfortable on the ball and capable of the occasional screamer, why wouldn’t you want him?
Arsenal could certianly do with a player of his physicality and experience at the heart of their defence, but would Wenger be tempted to part with any of his club’s precious profit? Everton are in the market for defensive cover, but is crossing the divide too much to ask? And Spurs, after pursuing Christopher Samba, obviously want a towering centre-half for their ever-growing squad. Interested Harry?
And where would the player himself want to go? So what will Agger do… do do?
