‘A lot of football fans were made that day’ – Chelsea fans erupt as they mark the anniversary of their greatest triumph

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have spent their day reminiscing…

There have been a lot of big moments in the pub in recent years, from nerve-wracking Premier League games to shocking internationals, but our landlord doesn’t think that anything will ever match Chelsea’s heroic victory against Bayern Munich in 2012.

Five years to the day, the Blues somehow managed to defeat the German giants in Munich thanks to a stunning late equaliser from Didier Drogba, and the rest, so they say, is history.

It was certainly a moment that has gone down in history for Chelsea, catapulting the club into a new era of success. From Petr Cech’s penalty saves, to Drogba’s goal, to the shocking misses from Mario Gomez – it seemed as though there was no way that Chelsea were going to lose that game.

Unsurprisingly, the 19th of May has become a day to remember for the Blues in the Transfer Tavern, and the Chelsea fans on Reddit have made sure not to forget the date either.

Taking to the site to remember the game, the Chelsea fans are absolutely delighted…
