Liverpool are pushing along nicely in the Premier League this season and remain on course for a top four spot thanks in the main to some of their scintillating attacking football.
The Reds and manager Jurgen Klopp will be seeking to show the rest of the league over the coming months that they are a force to be reckoned with, and armed with a £140m war chest from the sale of Philippe Coutinho, they could well use January and the summer to add some reinforcements to the ranks.
Our landlord here in the Tavern has been a big fan of the Reds this season, and he’s been having some banter with the Liverpool fans over by the pool table this week. Some of this talk and banter though soon turned to serious transfer talk, and our gaffer thinks he’s come up with the perfect signing at Anfield in Brighton star Lewis Dunk.
The English defender has been in superb form for the Seagulls during their debut season in the top flight and seems to be impressing and improving by the week.
Tall, good in the air, but no slouch with the ball at his feet either, Dunk has every tool needed to become one of the top central defenders in the country, and he could become the ideal long term partner for Liverpool new boy Virgil Van Dijk.
Dunk would be an excellent capture and one who wouldn’t break the bank either, a superb signing all around.
Reds fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
