Jose Mourinho has declared that he would be interested in bringing exiled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to Real Madrid. In fact he’d love it. Problem is, he thinks Wazza is still red at heart.
Following Madrid’s thumping of AC Milan, the Special One was asked by Sky Sports about the troubled 24-year-old’s future:
“He probably wants to leave for some reasons, but I believe he belongs to Man Utd, he belongs to Man Utd fans, he belongs to Old Trafford.
“I believe he is going to stay.
“But if at the end of day Man Utd decides that he is to leave, give me a call.”
Given Mourinho’s intention to become the next Manchester United manager, it is no wonder that he’d want Wayne Rooney to stay at Old Trafford. Mourinho’s complimentary words could be enough to persuade the England international in trying to work out a contract for Man United. With the bad atmosphere that is surrounding United these days, maybe the appointment of Mourinho as Red Devils boss could come sooner than we all thought.
