A surprise Everton deal for this Chelsea player actually makes sense for all parties

The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are excitedly discussing the potential of bringing a Premier League winning striker to their club.

Reports from Sky Sports have recently revealed that Everton manager Ronald Koeman is open to making a shock loan move for Chelsea’s AWOL striker, Diego Costa.

The Spaniard has been involved in a summer long transfer saga after being told he is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and is now looking for a move away from the club.

Costa, who is currently on extended leave in his native Brazil, is reported to only want to a return to the club that sold him to the Blues, Atletico Madrid.

Unfortunately for the forward, Madrid have a transfer embargo and won’t be able to sign anyone until January 2018.

In that case, a four-month loan move to Goodison Park seems like it could actually happen.

It might not be ideal for Costa, going from a Premier League champion and having a great season personally to the Blue side of Merseyside, but Everton are a club on the rise and Costa could be a huge boost to them.

Koeman’s side is in need of a striker with Premier League experience and Costa has just that.

The want away forward could easily bag 10-15 goals if he plays as well as he can do in his short time at Everton and those goals could prove to be crucial to their success.

Had this story broken a few weeks ago it would have seemed impossible but now that Costa seems determined to head back to Atletico, there is a chance it could happen.

This genuinely seems like a deal that is perfect for all parties involved.
