Following on from Zinedine Zidane’s son Enzo making waves for Real Madrid juniors, Jose Mourinho’s son Jose Jr made his debut in a 9-0 win for Canillas. Canillas are a satellite club of Real. Jose Jr, aged ten, plays as a goalkeeper and made a number of fine saves in his side’s landslide victory over San Roque.
His side Canillas are well known for producing top junior talent and have boasted the offspring of two world class former Madrid men. Enzo Zidane and Ronaldo’s son Ronald (yes he could be called Ronald Ronaldo if he desires) have both played for Canilla in the past.
Jose Jr was too young to play when his father was manager of Chelsea but is said to have great potential between the sticks.
He certainly comes from a winning background. His father is arguably the best football manager on the planet. He broke Manchester United’s stranglehold on the Premiership when he took over as Chelsea boss in 2004. He won two Premiership titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups.
At Inter he won two league titles, a cup and the Champions League. Previously he won the league, cup, Uefa Cup and Champions League with FC Porto.
If his son Jose is anywhere near as determined and ‘special’ as the self titled special one then I’m sure we’ll see him keeping goal for a top European club in ten years or so.
