Chelsea are on the verge of landing Belgian International Kevin de Bruyne, for a fee thought to be worth around €3.5 million according to the telegraph.
Interestingly the paper also have pointed out the fact that Chelsea’s advance of €6 million for the player were knocked back 12 months previous and now the lower figure is believed to have been accepted by the Belgian champions Genk who are set to let de Bruyne depart this summer.
The wide man who can also play up top is thought to be a hot prospect and certainly one for the future, so the news of the youngster being flogged at such a cut down price is certainly a puzzling one, especially as he is currently tied to the club for a further four years.
The exciting teenager has made 32 appearances snatching five goals along the way to help his side win the Belgian Pro League for the third time.
According to sources in Belgium Roman Abramovich and Chelsea are in touching distance of showing off de Bruyne as a new addition to the squad.
I haven’t seen much of the 19 year old who has bagged one cap for his country, but if the rumours are true I’m sure it won’t be long before he graces us all with his presence.
