Abramovich looking to step in as Chelsea look to resolve Conte frustrations

Antonio Conte’s departure is the last thing that the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern want this summer…

The Italian was simply sensational last season, making an immediate impact in the Premier League and forcing the other sides in the English top flight to trail in his wake.

There is a sense of optimism around the Transfer Tavern today, then, with the Telegraph recently reporting that Chelsea are said to be optimistic that Antonio Conte’s frustrations will be resolved this summer. Significantly, it is noted that Roman Abramovich is looking to step in directly – deciding not to leave it to his advisors – with the Russian hopeful that Conte will agree to a new long-term deal at Stamford Bridge.

Frustration at Stamford Bridge certainly isn’t unexpected amongst the supporters in the pub, with many fans in blue angry themselves at the lack of transfer activity so far. Whilst other top Premier League sides like Man Utd and Man City have invested already this summer, Chelsea have remained quiet – and this must change going forward.

Our landlord thinks that Chelsea risk falling behind domestically without investment, and so he is urging the club to get behind their manager.
