The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are buzzing to see that their new stadium is being fitted with safe standing zones ready for when the law changes around the topic. The club tweeted the news with a link to the Tottenham website and the fans are delighted at this step forward.

The Tottenham fans propping our bar up will be looking forward to the new season and the first game that they have in their new stadium against Liverpool in September. Spurs have already announced that the stadium won’t be ready for their first home game of the season against Fulham, meaning they’ll have to endure one more game at Wembley after playing their last for the whole of last season.
Having a new stadium to look forward to is exciting enough, but considering the new stadium has been ‘future-proofed’ for the impending law changes on safe standing in football is even more cause for celebration amongst our jubilant Lilywhites. The club can be commended for being one of the first clubs to make the move towards safe standing in football and whilst it’s unclear whether the new laws will come in, it’s still good that the club has made the step towards it.
