Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been on the lips of many punters here in the Transfer Tavern this summer, with him being linked with nearly every big club out there with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea all looking for new strikers this summer.
However, Zlatan has claimed that former club AC Milan were ‘desperate’ to sign him according to TalkSport. Ibrahimovic, who spent two years at Milan and won the scudetto in the 2011-2012 season as well as being top scorer in Serie A, was seen as potentially available at a cut price deal and after such a successful previous spell – wanted him back.
The 33-year-old says he sees it as a compliment that clubs are still interested in him and that it shows he is still performing at the highest level, and our landlord here in the Tavern agrees reckoning he still has two or three years left at the highest level of European football.
Sweden’s all-time leading scorer is going into the last year of his contract at Paris Saint Germain, and could even be available for a free next summer. He has asked PSG for a contract extension, but they have refused his request.
Do you think the big Swede still has years ahead of him at the highest level? Would you like your club to enquire about him next window? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
