Italian newspaper Leggo are reporting that AC Milan have entered the running for Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani. Juventus have an option to buy the Italian for £13.5million when his loan finishes at the end of the season, but they are hesitant to pay the full asking price, and Milan could steal a march on their Italian rivals.
Milan see Aquilani as an ideal replacement for Andrea Pirlo, who is coincidentally a free transfer target for Juve, and Milan chiefs are ready to open a dialogue with Liverpool over a possible transfer. The Italian club also believe they can rid Aquilani of his injury problems for good with their state of the art sports science research department, the MilanLab.
