We love our personalities in the Football Transfer Tavern and there are none bigger than Mario Balotelli in the Premier League. However Mail Online have suggested that he could soon be leaving our shores to join AC Milan in a £20 million move during next month’s transfer window.
Roberto Mancini still sees a future for the egotistical striker at City but it appears that the board have become fed up with antics both on and off the field perhaps accelerating chances of a January transfer.
Inter president Adriano Galliani has been instructed by Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi to bring the Italian home and he plans to negotiate with City’s owners directly rather than doing through Mancini.
Balotelli was absent during City’s 1-0 win over Reading yesterday and Mancini said: “Mario is ill. I don’t know where he is now. For one week he’s been ill. He came to the training ground yesterday because he wants to train but he can’t. But I can’t [shut] him in his house. It’s impossible”
The 22-year-old’s future looked far more secure after accepting a two week fine worth £330,000 for his poor disciplinary record on the pitch last term but it appears that he may have left it too late.
City have this week been linked with a move for Brazilian superstar Neymar as a straight replacement for Balotelli.
Is it time for City to let the striker leave? Vote in our polls below.
