Adam Lallana tips teammate to take over from Gerrard as Liverpool skipper

henderson1TalkSPORT certainly have the Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern moving over to the bar with some speed as our landlord claims there is yet more talk about Jordan Henderson.

The Liverpool star has become better and better this season and in Steven Gerrard’s absence, has taken on the mantle of the main man in the middle, along with the captain’s armband and we think he has more than lived up to any expectations his manager Brendan Rodgers or his teammates had of him.

That has not gone unnoticed by either the media or the fans, and it seems that his teammates have also taken note, with Adam Lallana making no secret of his admiration for the player.

Lallana gushed about Gerrard and his performance this season and noted: ‘He has proved when Stevie has not been fit or not been playing that he has got the qualities and attributes to lead the team.

‘It is quite natural [for him] really. It isn’t something he works on. Being a captain is something you grow into. We all look up to him because he is a respectful player and lad.’

We think that Lallana is right and after seeing that in 15 games with Henderson as skipper, Liverpool have not lost once, we think he certainly deserves the armband!

Liverpool fans. Would you like to see Henderson take the skipper’s armband come next season? Is he your lucky charm? Let us know your thoughts below.
