Everton should be able to challenge for a European spot this season having drafted in a number of quality players over the course of the summer.
The Toffees won’t want to start this campaign like the last as they flirted with the possibility of relegation and looked less than convincing. Interestingly, it looks as if Everton won’t be waving goodbye to one of their most promising players, as according to The Telegraph, Marco Silva has told Ademola Lookman that he won’t be leaving in this transfer window and has urged him to secure a place in the starting line-up.
Ademola Lookman spent the second half of last season on loan at RB Leipzig, and the Bundesliga side want him back before the overseas transfer deadline.
But, Marco Silva has other ideas as he believes that the youngster presents the ‘present and the future’ of Everton.
“First he has to understand that he is in a big club. I think he understands and I’m here to be clear with him in this situation,”
“As a player, now he has to fight for his position. I am here to do everything I can to make him happy again, to put him in the conditions to fight and after it is for him to keep his position in our starting XI and to fight to take it.”
So, it looks as if Ademola Lookman won’t be leaving in the summer transfer window as Marco Silva wants him to push for a place in the starting line-up. Although, this could prove difficult with summer signings and a number of attacking players already at his disposal.
But, supporters will be delighted to see that the youngster is set to stay at the club as he is arguably one of the most promising players in the whole of English football.
