West Ham United have had Lukasz Fabianski to thank this season for his performances in between the sticks as he has won the club a number of points since joining from Swansea City last summer.
However, one man that may not be thanking the Poland international is Adrian, who has had to watch on from the substitutes bench for the majority of the campaign, having made appearances in just the cup competitions.
What’s the News?
And, it appears the Spaniard has had enough with waiting out in the cold for first-team football as Football Insider are claiming he is set to leave the club in the summer.
The 32-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and West Ham are not believed to have any plans to offer him a new deal.
It hardly comes as a surprise to hear that Adrian will move on in the summer and it might just be right for the player and the final few years of his career.
The veteran shot-stopper may have been a favourite with the fans during his time at the Hammers, however, replacing Fabianski is not something many at the London Stadium would be too happy to see at the moment, especially considering how well the Poland international has played.
However, his imminent departure is something that will cause West Ham a problem in the summer and one they will need to address.
Adrian is a reliable backup and would be someone the club could easily call upon should such an occasion arrive, which is a nice problem to have. But if he goes, it is likely that the Hammers will have to fork out a transfer fee to find a suitable replacement for him.
Nathan Trott is promising, however, with the club feeling he needs to gain that experience whilst out on loan, it appears rather obvious that he is not yet trusted.
West Ham fans, are you surprised that Adrian will be leaving in the summer? Who should the club look to bring in when he departs? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
