Liverpool supporters in the Transfer Tavern are relishing their side’s trip to struggling Swansea City in the Premier League this evening, what with the Reds going into the encounter off the back of beating Manchester City in their last league match.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have enjoyed a wonderful run of form in the last few months by going on an 18-match unbeaten run, with their latest victory their most impressive yet as they got the better of Pep Guardiola’s City 4-3 in a thrilling clash at Anfield, in turn becoming the first team to beat the Citizens in the league this term. And that wonderful success last weekend has set them up perfectly for the trip to basement side Swansea this evening, who find themselves six points adrift of safety ahead of kick-off.
Consequently, there have been many delighted Liverpudlians in the Tavern in recent times, yet they are unlikely to be overly thrilled by a recent report from Tuttosport (via Calcio Mercato), which suggests that their club are set endure some January disappointment, as they look like missing out on North Korea forward Kwang-song Han to Italian giants Juventus.
The 19-year-old currently plays his trade at Serie B outfit Perugia on loan from top-flight outfit Cagliari, and he has certainly proven his worth this season with seven goals and three assists in 17 league games for the club, helping them to relative safety of mid-table.
As such, his fine performances in Italy have reportedly attracted the interest of Klopp’s Liverpool, and indeed Tottenham and Juventus, yet recent reports suggest that the latter are in ‘advanced talks’ to land the teenage sensation this month, with a deal potentially being done on Monday.
And this recent development is likely to strike a blow in Klopp’s transfer plans, with it likely that the Liverpool boss will have to turn his attentions to other targets in the coming days.
Landlord’s verdict: Kwang-song Han has been in wonderful form for Serie B side Perugia this term, and it’s form which looks set to earn him a huge move in the near future.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are one side reportedly keen on landing the 19-year-old forward, yet recent reports suggest that they are to miss out as Italian giants Juventus are in ‘advanced talks’ to seal a deal for the North Korea international.
At 19, Han clearly has a massive future in the game and could well have realised that potential at Anfield, but it looks increasingly likely that the forward will make the move to Turin, in what is likely to come as disappointment to manager Klopp in his bid to bolster his ranks this month.
