African star is surely Tottenham’s ideal Danny Rose replacement if he leaves in January

Our Tottenham contingent here in the Transfer Tavern are always a great bunch to sit down and have a chat with, with the North London faithful always keen to have their say on the progress of Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Going well in the league with Harry Kane starting to hit form, Spurs have to be considered one of the favourites to secure yet another Champions League spot come the end of the season, and it would take a brave soul to bet against the England strikers goals failing to land the club a top-four berth.

With the transfer window now open for business once more, fans know that a merry-go-round could be in full swing over the next few weeks, with defender Danny Rose a possible departure.

Should the England left-back move on to fresh opportunities, he will need to be replaced, and our landlord probed the thoughts of our resident Tottenham fans, still excited by their side’s 5-2 defeat of Southampton last week.

A couple of names were touted, before our landlord suggested an ambitious move for Juventus’ Kwadwo Asamoah.

The left-sided Ghanaian international is set to become a free agent in the summer when his contract expires, and could be available this month should the Old Lady look to acquire a fee for their long-serving man.

Touted for moves to a whole host of top European clubs during his time in Turin, Asamoah could end up patrolling the left-side at Spurs for the next few years, and would arguably even present an upgrade upon their current options.

Our landlord is a big fan of the player, who has impressed on a regular basis for many years following his switch from Udinese, and Pochettino could consider a cheeky offer in the next few weeks, especially if Danny Rose departs.

Spurs fans, should Pochettino consider a move for Asamoah or would you prefer your boss targets a younger player should Rose depart? Have your say below…
