Premier League

After the World Cup, Tottenham must land this in-form international striker – agreed?

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting concerned about the lack of movement coming from North London with regards to transfers. The Lilywhites are progressing well, but a lack of activity this summer could cause them to fall behind rivals like Man Utd and Man City.

Naturally, then, Pochettino should have his eyes peeled for fresh talent, and one player that should be catching his interest is Michy Batshuayi, who currently plays for Chelsea.

The Belgian’s had a tough time in the Premier League, but that’s largely due to his lack of opportunities at Stamford Bridge. He moved on loan to Borussia Dortmund last season, and he proved what he could do when given a chance. He bagged 7 goals from just 10 appearances, and that’s a testament to his quality.

He’s continued that fine form into the World Cup, too.

He’s already bagged 1 goal in Russia, and his shot rate is up there with the most potent of forwards. He’s getting into all the right positions, and it’s only a matter of time before that translates to even more goals.

What do you think of the World Cup so far? Let us know

Tottenham have had a problem going forward in that Harry Kane has really been their only option in recent years. If they want to challenge for the title, that needs to change, but they’ll need someone that has proven their worth going forward.

In a short spell in Germany last term, Batshuayi proved that and more, and if his World Cup form continues, Spurs could find the perfect option in the Belgian.
