Sport Witness interviewed the agent of Lille wide man Sofiane Boufal, who confirmed that Tottenham amongst other clubs in Europe have expressed an interest in signing the playing.
There was talk before the transfer window closed that Tottenham had made a failed €16 million bid for the player, a claim the players agent strenuously denied.
“You always have to differentiate interest from officials bids. Of course there is interest from Tottenham and other clubs. The Tottenham story was probably written because they’ve seen him more than others and haven’t really tried to hide it, and it’s probably through that that the French media started linking Tottenham.”
“There were no offers. Then again, when people look at players, they always try and guess how much they would cost. There have been no offers, and as his agent, I’d be the first to know if one had been made. Lille bought him for €3m, he’s been there just over six months, everyone is happy with him and what he’s doing, but they know it’ll be hard to keep him if he carries on like he is.”
The Spurs fans in The Transfer Tavern are hopeful that a deal can be done to bring the player to White Hart Land, and are hopeful that their club can beat the competition to win the race to secure his signing.
