Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been left debating what the best course of action is regarding one misfit, after comments suggested he could be set to stay at Anfield.
Metro quote Mario Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola, as dropping a major hint that the Italian striker could remain at Anfield next season, despite failing to impress following a £16m transfer two years ago.
Balotelli endured a difficult maiden campaign in his first season with Liverpool and was then loaned back to former employers AC Milan last season, who snubbed the chance to sign the Premier League winning forward on a permanent basis.
Many expected Balotelli would be on the move again this summer but it seems that may not be the case, as Raiola told Goal the Reds remain a good option for Balotelli.
‘His option now is Liverpool, and that is a great option. I have not discussed Mario with Besiktas and I have never spoken to any Turkish media about that. I said last year they are the worst for writing lies and that is again the case.’
Klopp is likely to continue looking for suitors for Balotelli though, and fellow striker flop Christian Benteke, and our landlord is still confident a move will materialise for both.
