Gunners boss Arsene Wenger declared earlier this week that his North London side tracked 19-year-old Martial for a while but elected not to move because they had plenty of strength on the wings.
That’s all well and good but Martial is now thriving as a central-striker at Manchester United, with four goals in his first four games, leaving Wenger with egg on his chin.
“Anthony is a true modern centre-forward who can change a side.”
“I am surprised by the analysis of Wenger, who has apparently been following him since he was a teenager. If Wenger made his analysis to justify not signing Anthony, then I accept his words and so he is a winger.”
“But in football, there are those who follow footballers and those who buy them.”
With Arsenal the only side in Europe’s top leagues not to sign a senior outfield player over the summer, Lamboley’s comments have struck a nerve amongst Arsenal punters at the bar.
