Tottenham Hotspur are caught in the midst of a tough transition period with uncertainty over their move into the new stadium still clouding their future, with Daniel Levy coming under fire for his handling of the precarious situation.

Levy is an owner who has divided opinion amongst fans both inside and outside of the club, but there is little case to be made to defend the shambles which has been Tottenham's delayed stadium move.

After a summer in which he failed to finance the sale of a single new player, presumably in part due to the financial burden of the stadium move, Levy has seen his popularity considerably diminish since the conclusion of the previous campaign.

But the period of uncertainty will inevitably come to an end, and with it Tottenham Football Club will take on a whole new identity. Naturally, the cost of the stadium move has been crippling, and Levy will need to balance the books carefully in the coming years to ensure a smooth transition into a new dawn for the club.

Despite this, he cannot afford to rest on his laurels and expect Pochettino to continue working miracles with his limited resources, so he simply must invest in the squad in the next two transfer windows.

Well, a recent report from Goal suggests that he may have the chance to do that in January, as known Tottenham target Miguel Almiron is destined for a Premier League switch according to his agent.

"There is interest in Almiron and Oscar Romero," he told AM 1080 in Paraguay. "I’m in the process of working on England, there are two or three clubs interested in Almiron.

"There’s nothing concrete but certainly Almiron will play in the Premier League."

The same report details a quote from Atlanta United president Darren Eales who had this to say in response to reports regarding a potential £11 million bid.

"It would have to take at least triple that for me to even get out of bed and think about any bids for Almiron," he told 92.9 The Game back in October.

At just £33 million, Almiron could represent decent value for a number ten with a proven track record.

His record of 13 goals and 11 assists from 34 appearances in the MLS this season should be taken with a pinch of salt, but he's certainly showcased a level of potential which will be giving Pochettino and Levy plenty of food for thought.

And quotes from Almiron's agent suggest that there is a strong enough interest from a handful of Premier League clubs to suggest that a transfer could be looming on the horizon.

But whether Tottenham are one of the clubs his agent has alluded to remains to be seen.
