Arsenal fans crying out for a new striker in the Transfer Tavern have been given a major boost today, with the door having been opened for an exciting move.
Metro quotes the agent of AZ Alkmaar forward Vincent Janssen as stating his client would be interested in a move away from the Dutch Eredivisie, with Janssen having excelled since breaking into the side in 2015- scoring 27 goals in 34 appearances.
That record in front of goal has alerted Arsenal to the player’s services, as they eye support for a struggling Olivier Giroud next season, whilst agent Patrick van Diemen stated Janssen is ready for a step-up in his career.
‘Provided it’s a good club. Vincent has had a brilliant season, has made his debut in the Dutch National Team. It’s made him hungry for more. AZ is fantastic, but if you have the opportunity to take the next step…then that’s what you should do as a sportsman.’
‘AZ may ask what it wants for Janssen, because he is fixed for three years and his contract contains no predetermined release clause.’
Our landlord believes the 21-year-old would be a quality addition but believes Arsenal also require a bigger, more established name if they are to challenge for honours again next term.
