The dreams of Manchester City and Chelsea supporters in the Transfer Tavern have been well and truly dashed today, after a move for a high-profile target was ruled-out.
“Nothing has changed since a year ago. The understanding with Juventus is still total. Juventus are looking for 100 million Euros? We are in the same frame of mind and, if an interesting alternative project does not present itself, then he will stay. Aside from that, we are still ready to sign a contract extension.”
Pogba’s performances in Italy have led to a wealth of interest in his services, with Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain all eyeing his signature, and with the 23-year-old only on a reported £70k-a-week in Turin, the mega-rich sides held high hopes of a deal.
However, Mino Raiola’s comments suggest Pogba is loyal to Juventus, who of course gave him the chance when Sir Alex Ferguson neglected to push him into the first-team at Manchester United.
