Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are an excited bunch today, on a weekend where they could break into the top-four, and they’ve discussed the latest transfer rumours over a pitcher or two.
One of the big stories from the day comes from Catalonia, as The Daily Express cites the former agent of Barcelona defender Marc Bartra as stating the defensive talent could easily leave the club this summer.
The 25-year-old defender is highly-rated and rose through Barcelona’s esteemed La Masia academy but the Spaniard has featured just three times in La Liga this season, raising concerns as to the player’s long-term future.
Now, speaking to Cope, Javier Diaz said he feels his former client needs to leave the club in order to save his career.
“I do not know what happens with Bartra but I know Marc is a very ambitious person and in a situation you should not like,”
“That is very clear. As a footballer, I think the best thing to do is try to turn the tables.”
United’s interest is long-term and these developments are likely to lead to further reports, although our landlord feels other areas of the Red Devil’s squad should be the main focus come the end of the season.
