Chelsea are not a club wholly associated with giving youth a chance in the first-team, much to the frustration of the punters propping up the bar here in the Transfer Tavern.
Indeed, the Blues in our bar would love to see the club start to develop their vast array of young talent in-house, rather than farm them out on loan before selling them for relatively big money.
Still, that doesn’t stop our west London locals from getting very excited when a talented teen signs.

The Welshman played fairly frequently for Exeter at the age of 16 and has even been called up to Chris Coleman’s international squad, so certainly has quite the pedigree as it is. Expected to feature against Nottingham Forest tonight, it has been confirmed that the 17-year-old has signed professional terms.
With defensive midfielders proving hard to come by in the modern market, the Chelsea fans here this evening are excited about how he may develop.
A hugely rated talent, hopefully he can actually stay at Chelsea in the long run and realise his obvious potential. With the club set to move stadium fairly soon, they could do with a backbone of strong talent to rely on during the obvious financial problems that will bring.
