A Liverpool outcast appears to be attracting interest from one of Europe’s biggest clubs as they look to solve their left-back concerns.
Having sold Lucas Digne to Everton in the summer transfer window, it is understood that the Camp Nou side believe they are now short of options, with just Jordi Alba their only senior left-sided defender.
Moreno has had a difficult five years at Anfield and appears to be on the fringes of Jurgen Klopp’s squad at the moment, especially with the performances from Andrew Robertson keeping him out of the team.
The former Sevilla left-back is a free agent next summer and Liverpool could look to offload the 26-year-old for a transfer fee in the winter as it is unlikely he will sign an extension to remain with the Premier League outfit.
Barcelona’s interest in Moreno does come as a bit of a surprise, although a move back to Spain could be good for the defender.
The £9million-rated left-back, as per Transfermarkt, has made a number of mistakes during his time at Anfield and with the way Robertson is currently playing, it looks unlikely that he will get another chance to impress Klopp.
Barcelona could look to sign the defender on a cut-price deal in January, or try and get him on a free transfer in the summer, although it appears the 26-year-old could be heading out of England in the very near future.
