Alvaro Morata could favour move to West Ham

West Ham United added a number of quality signings to their ranks in the summer, however, they could look to add another top player to their squad in the winter.

According to a report by AS in Spain, Alvaro Morata is being heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium outfit.

The Hammers are not the only side to be interested in the Chelsea frontman, however, it is understood that the former Real Madrid marksman could choose to make a move across London to help his Spain career.

Morata has struggled to rediscover his form for the Blues following an injury setback last Christmas but had been given a chance to resurrect his career at Stamford Bridge under Maurizio Sarri, although he was replaced by Olivier Giroud for their match against Cardiff City.

The 25-year-old would feel he would have a better chance of getting into Luis Enrique’s Spain squad for the Nations League if he were playing first-team football, with West Ham an ideal opportunity for him.

The Verdict:

It remains to be seen if Morata will indeed head to West Ham in the winter, or if he will remain at Chelsea under Sarri.

The Hammers, who had made a number of signings over the summer, could still look to add a striker to their ranks. The club has so far struggled to find goals, although Andriy Yarmolenko did find the back of the net twice on his first start in the Premier League.

Manuel Pellegrini could look to make a move for the £58.5million-rated striker, as per Transfermarkt, however, with interest from other sides in Europe, it could be a switch difficult to make.
