Ambitious move for World Cup winner would finally rid Tottenham of Moussa Sissoko

The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are waiting to see whether Mauricio Pochettino will make any moves in the January transfer window.

Spurs currently sit outside the top four in the Premier League but they still hold hope for success in the FA Cup and the Champions League this season. With a starting XI packed with talent, Pochettino will hope to improve on his squad options so that rotation is made easier.

This could lead to him parting ways with Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou – both of whom have failed to live up to expectations with the North London outfit since their switch. Erik Lamela is another player who could be shipped after losing his place to Son while out injured.

If Sissoko and N’Koudou depart this January – the latter surely on a loan deal – then Pochettino will be forced into the transfer window to bring in a new winger. There are many top quality options out there for him to consider but Julian Draxler could be a shrewd move.

The Germany international, who has 40 senior caps to his name, is currently at Paris Saint-Germain but has only managed ten league starts this season, with a further six coming from the bench. He has two goals and three assists in Ligue 1 this season.

The likes of Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are stealing the headlines at PSG so Draxler might be forced to leave the French club just one year after joining. Spurs would be an ideal destination for the skilful wide man to head to.

The 24-year-old would have many more opportunities there and a manager like Pochettino could bring out the best in the winger. During spells with Schalke and Wolfsburg, Draxler showed the Bundesliga just how good a player he can be. Now perhaps he can reignite his career in the Premier League with Tottenham.
