Liverpool fans are probably still drooling over yesterday’s performance as their side brushed Chelsea aside at Anfield in a game that involved two very different halves.
Sadio Mane grabbed the all-important opening goal for Liverpool as he headed Jordan Henderson’s floated ball past a helpless Kepa Arrizabalaga, before Mohamed Salah grabbed the second.
The Senegal international was brilliant once again as he constantly made a nuisance of himself down the left-hand side, and it appears as if Daily Mail journalist Amitai Winehouse was also in awe of his performance.
‘You can see why Sadio Mane might be the man for Zinedine Zidane. This season, at 27, he is hitting his peak.’
‘Mane has now scored 21 goals in all competitions – his best tally in a campaign for an English side. Like his header against Chelsea on Sunday, they tend to come at the biggest moments too.’
‘While no Liverpool fan would want to see him leave Anfield, it is easy to picture him in Madrid. He’s becoming the Real deal.’
The attacker has produced a whopping 21 goals and four assists in the current campaign, so it comes as no surprise that Real Madrid are reported to be looking at him.
Amitai Winehouse’s comment about easily seeing Mane in Madrid is a very bold claim to make as moving to Real Madrid would arguably be a step down for Mane, as the Spanish club have struggled this season and they currently find themselves out of the Champions League.
Liverpool fans, surely Sadio Mane won’t leave to join Real Madrid this summer? Join the discussion by commenting below!
