Everton have come on leaps and bounds under Marco Silva over the past month or so, with a European spot well within their reach.
The Toffees will be desperate to keep up their momentum having put in a number of accomplished performances in recent times, with the international break coming at the wrong time. Although, the club did receive negative news on the transfer front recently, as according to The Liverpool Echo, Andre Gomes is likely to return to Barcelona at the end of the current campaign.
Barcelona refused to discuss the possibility of selling Andre Gomes to Everton this summer.
Interestingly, Everton enquired about Gomes’ availability when negotiating the transfer of Yerry Mina and were told he could be available on loan.
But, when the prospect of signing him permanently was brought up, the Champions League giants refused to even consider the proposal.
Andre Gomes has already established himself as one of the standout performers in the Premier League this season and will play a huge part in Everton’s campaign.
However, supporters will be disappointed that the Spanish giants failed to even consider Everton’s proposal of a permanent move during the summer, as it looks as if he is likely to stay at Barcelona and get a run in their side upon the expiry of his loan deal.
