Tottenham Hotspur fans will grow in anxiety as the international break progresses with an injury to one of their stars possibly putting their top four hopes in doubt.

Spurs have been absolutely dreadful in recent times in the Premier League and fans are beginning to lose their patience, with a Champions League place now far from guaranteed for next season.

Although, one positive for fans is the fact that Daniel Levy may be looking to spend in the summer, as according to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur could launch a surprise move for Andre Gomes.

Gomes is exactly the kind of player who could take Spurs' midfield to the next level, as well as bringing their attacking game on leaps and bounds. The midfielder has set the Premier League alight this season with his performances at Goodison Park by creating a sense of calmness on the ball and displaying his wide range of passing.

Spurs moving for the Portugal international would be brilliant for the fans and the players, especially Christian Eriksen, as Gomes could thrive alongside the Dane. Eriksen desperately needs a creative midfielder alongside him to help start attacks and to create space for him to work in. Also, the Everton man thrives off quick one-two passes around the box, which is something that has benefited Spurs this season.

Although, Daniel Levy may find it difficult to lure the midfielder to North London as fellow Premier League side Everton are looking to sign him permanently in the summer transfer window. But, after spending the last couple of transfer windows saving up, perhaps Levy will now go big to bring the 25-year-old in.
