West Ham United fans have had enough of injuries in the current campaign and it looks as if another player is set for some time out. Yesterday’s defeat at the hands of Cardiff City was bad enough and Manuel Pellegrini’s injury update has made things even worse.
Indeed, Andy Carroll has just added to the Hammers’ attacking woes as he finds himself out on the sidelines.
What’s the news?
According to Claret & Hugh, Manuel Pellegrini explained that Andy Carroll was not considered on Saturday due to suffering yet another problem with his ankle.
“Andy was not considered for this game. He has some problem in his ankle, so he was not in the squad,”
It comes as no surprise that Andy Carroll is injured again as he’s spent most of his time out on the sidelines. Indeed, fans surely must be starting to get a bit fed up with him constantly appearing on the injury table.
Of course, many fans may feel that his absence isn’t necessarily a bad thing as he’s done very little in the current campaign, but in actual fact his absence will come as a big blow as the Hammers have already struggled enough at the pinnacle of the attack and Pellegrini is now short on attacking options.
With his contract up at the end of the season he will no doubt be leaving the London Stadium after offering nothing more than vocal support from the sidelines this season.
West Ham United fans, obviously a big blow in terms of losing an option at the pinnacle of the attack, but surely he has to go in the summer?
