Andy Carroll thought to be closing on switch to Galatasaray

West Ham United could see one of their strikers depart from the London Stadium this winter, according to claims in Turkey.

Fanatik are stating that Andy Carroll is on Galatasaray’s radar and the Istanbul giants are believed to be closing in on a temporary deal.

It has been claimed Galatasaray have also reached an agreement with both the Hammers and the striker, making it seem as though a switch is on the horizon.

Carroll had struggled with an ankle injury through the beginning of Mauricio Pellegrini’s reign as boss but has since made three substitute appearances.

The England international is not the only striker to have had speculation surrounding his future at the London Stadium with the likes of Javier Hernandez, Lucas Perez and Marko Arnautovic all having been linked elsewhere.

The Verdict:

It is understood that a deal is almost complete between Galatasaray and the Premier League outfit, with just some minor details needing to be completed.

With just over six months left on his current West Ham deal, there has been doubts about Carroll’s future at the London Stadium.

The 29-year-old, who was brought to the club by Sam Allardyce in the summer of 2013, has had a difficult injury-hit time at the Hammers with the troubling ankle issue, but it is thought that he has overcome those difficulties now.
