Liverpool have confirmed that Andy Robertson has committed his future to the club by signing a new long-term contract with an official statement on the club’s website.
The left-back becomes just the latest Anfield star to extend their stay at Melwood, with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Joe Gomez recently.
Robertson has become a key figure for Jurgen Klopp’s side since arriving from Hull City 18 months ago and has impressed with his performances.
The 24-year-old, who has become a fan favourite as well, has made 56 appearances for the Reds, including one in the Champions League final last season.
Robertson’s new deal obviously makes sense and is good news for all concerned at Liverpool.
The left-back has arguably been one of their best players over the last 18 months and has clearly made a difference to the club with his performances.
The 24-year-old, who saw an excellent 2018 capped with being named as the Scotland national team captain, will now be looking to build on the great news and help Liverpool finally lift a Premier League trophy.
