Andy Robertson’s Scotland call-up hasn’t surprised many Liverpool fans

On Monday, the Scottish Football Association announced the 23-man squad for their upcoming fixtures against Belgium and Albania and it came as little surprise that Andy Robertson made the squad after his heroics with Liverpool.

Robertson has turned out to be an unbelievable signing at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp opted to bring the Scottish defender in after he suffered relegation with Hull City and that decision looks like it was the right one. The deal for Robertson cost less than £10 million and if the Reds were to sell their man they’d be well within their rights to ask for at least treble that, however, it’s unlikely Klopp will consider letting his first-choice left-back leave anytime soon.

The current Scottish national team is lacking in a big-name star and whilst Robertson is only a left-back, he is the closest thing they have to a real marquee name. The 24-year-old still hasn’t reached his peak and he looks like following in the footsteps of a lot of previous legendary Scottish figures at Anfield. For now, though, it will be about getting his head down for club and country and continuing to show what he’s all about for Robertson.
