Another Chelsea midfield ace eyeing Stamford Bridge exit

MaticChelsea fans trying their luck on the Transfer Tavern fruit machine have ended up empty handed, whilst there’s also disappointing news on the transfer front.

The Daily Mail states the Blues are facing an uphill battle in keeping Nemanja Matic at the club, as the Serbian’s loss of form has lead to him considering an exit from Stamford Bridge.

27-year-old Matic was a formidable figure in Chelsea’s Premier League success last term, creating a deadly partnership with Cesc Fabregas, but the midfield powerhouse has endured a tremendous fall from grace this season.

With his confidence affected, and the player struggling to get back to the required level, Matic is considering a career change- and it’s stated his team-mates believe he’s already decided to leave this summer.

Any hopes of Matic staying now rest on the shoulders of the incoming manager at the season, with Guus Hiddink’s role only temporary, but the reports add more disappointment to the faces of our Chelsea supporting regulars.

This news comes just days after The Daily Express reported a mass exodus from West London, with Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Thibaut Courtois all lined-up for a departure at the end of the season.

Our landlord believes Chelsea must start the groundwork of their rebuild now, so that they do not suffer any surprises come the summer. However, he believes it’s a mammoth task for any potential managerial recruit to face.
