Football Transfer Tavern’s team of the year Borussia Dortmund are in danger of losing a number of key players this summer as Manchester United line up a move for midfielder Ilkay Gundogan according to The Express.
Fellow midfielder Mario Gotze has already put pen to paper on a move to Bayern Munich and main man Robert Lewandowski is likely to follow suit.
The price of success some would say, but English clubs such as Arsenal and Tottenham know all too well that there is always a bigger club out there that want to prise your best players away.
United are hoping to tie up a £17 million deal for the creative midfield man as they have been lacking quality consistent central midfield partners for the impressive Michael Carrick this season.
“It is not reprehensible to answer such questions (of a future career in England or Spain) with ‘yes’,” Gundogan told Sport Bild.
“Everyone has a childhood dream on what he would like to achieve one day and my dream always was to play in England or Spain.”
