Another European giant enters race for Man United superstar

De GeaManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have expressed their woes to our bar staff, after it was reported another huge club is seeking to snatch away their prized possession.

The Daily Express reports that Paris Saint-Germain will rival Real Madrid for the signature of United goalkeeper David De Gea, who continues to be linked with a high-profile exit from Old Trafford.

De Gea infamously saw a deadline-day move to Real Madrid collapse in the dying moments of last summer’s Spanish transfer window but with United set to miss out on a Champions League spot, the Spaniard could find himself in the middle of a transfer tussle once again.

Whilst Real Madrid remain the favourites for his signature, PSG’s interest could push the price-tag of the goalkeeper higher and, whilst that will appeal to the Red Devils, they have no financial issues and their preference would be to keep the former Atletico Madrid man.

Our landlord can’t see any way De Gea will stay at Old Trafford this summer though, even if the unthinkable happens and United sneak into the top-four.

United fans, how much do you expect De Gea’s signature to fetch? Let us know in the comments below!
